Just went for lunch in their dinning room. Sunday lunch. Buffet only. Attendants/servers were friendly and efficient. However, food was lacking (this is personal opinion). Good variety. Salad was fresh and good. Did not care for the honey mustard on the pork loin, even with the sauce it was dry. Fried fish was okay. Hush puppies, no flavor and too hard to eat. The bolangnaise pasta was good. Could be, I am just spoiled by some of the other KY State Parks. Or maybe just an off day at this location.
Did not stay at the lodge but it looked very nice from outside. There seemed to be several cabins as well. The golf course was in really good shape considering how dry it has been. The greens were in good shape but very slow putting.
Beautiful place! If In the area must see very peaceful and drive slowly and admire the wildlife.
Great campground. But...be sure to have a 50' hose for your water connection. Only 9 sites with sewer and 50/30 amp electric. Great pub and restaurant. Golf course looks good. The river is still VERY high so the marina and boat launch are closed.
Barren river rv campground. 5 star Great wifi, 30 amp only, sites a little tight, TV scan stations fair, no cable dumpstation could be tricky for some, food at lodge pretty good and fair price. Over all rate it 4 of 5.
Rented an RV sight. Good amenities. I did notice some of the sights could use an update. The staff was great and the surroundings were peaceful.
We love coming here with the kids. They can ride bikes on the bike trail, we can hike, we can camp, even the lodge has stuff for the kids inside. We can spend hours here without running out of stuff to do.
We've eaten at the lodge and walked around the grounds and have swam at the beach (last year). All were beautiful, relaxing, and delicious. We just recently stayed at the campground. We stayed in the full hook-up section - which was very nice. There are a lot of trails to hike on. Sadly, due to recent flooding, some were closed temporarily. All in all - it's a beautiful place and well worth your time to come and relax, eat, camp, or whatever.
